The Great Brick Safari is now in residence at Paignton Zoo
As everyone was coming back from their staycation on a Sunday afternoon, we were heading in the opposite direction (happy to not be in the standstill traffic) and making our way down to Devon to Paignton Zoo.
The Great Brick Safari tour was due to be in Paignton Zoo earlier this year, but with lockdown the show dates slightly shifted and it’s now going to be there until January 3rd 2021. After waiting months for their arrival, the zoo were extremely happy the models had arrived at their new habits. Better late than never as they say! A sliver lining to the slight delay means that all of the beautiful plants the gardening team put in back in March have now had a chance to grow and flower.
As with many zoos, we had a number of different spectators watching us install brick versions of themselves. The zebras galloped along the fence as we placed their models near them and the giraffes were extremely interested when we reversed the 1.2 tonne brick elephant past their enclosure.
Paignton Zoo documented a lot of the installation and posted updates alongside pictures on their social media sites, which created a large amount of interest and buzz which was exciting for both us and the zoo to see.
A special thank you to the Paignton Zoo team who helped with the install, as they made everything run so smoothly.
